Vallourec designs and supplies tubes capable of withstanding the severe temperature and pressure conditions found in coal-fired, gas-fired and nuclear power plants. Tubes are available in a wide range of materials (carbon alloy steel, stainless steel, titanium, and nickel alloys); all shapes (smooth, rifled or finned); and for all applications, including boilers, condensers, headers, steam piping, steam generators, feedwater heaters and superheaters. Vallourec is the only supplier in the world capable of providing the entire spectrum of tubes used in a power plant.
Vallourec is the recognised expert in solutions for the new generation of “supercritical” and “ultra-supercritical” power plants, which operate at increased pressures and temperatures to achieve greater efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions. Compared to “subcritical” plants, these new technologies lower CO2 emissions by approximately one-third per kilowatt hour. Furthermore, the Group is working with customers to develop new solutions for the next generation of “high advanced” power plants.
